Luxury Clothing – Ethically Made in Manhattan
I started Martindale Clothing in 2022 after I realized my love for fashion came at a high cost to the world and to the men, women, and children working in the industry:
-40% of brand new clothing produced is unsold and ends up in a landfill
-Less than 2% of industry workers are paid a living wage
-Many factories use forced labor and/or child labor – yes, even heritage, luxury brands are guilty
After searching for an ethically produced, luxury trench coat, I gave up – it didn’t exist. Even heritage brands known for their quality had outsourced their production to cheaper regions where humane labor practices were not enforced.
Out of this frustration came an inspiration : surely there were more women who were facing the same problem – having a deep love of fashion and a deep dissatisfaction for what fashion has become.
Martindale was born – luxury clothing, ethically produced.
Every Martindale coat is crafted in purposefully small batches in the heart of Manhattan, New York, using carefully sourced, luxury fabrics and made with a dedication to American craftsmanship that’s increasingly rare in today’s fashion landscape.
My mission is to offer more than just beautiful pieces—I am here to create heirloom garments that last you decades, not days.
Once I retire a style with unsold product (whenever this happens), my plan is to donate any excess stock to the local women’s and children’s shelter.
Whether you’re 25 or 125, welcome to Martindale. I’m glad you’re here.
